Members of the Public Council under the State Migration Service met with foreign students studying in Ganja

Members of the Public Council under the State Migration Service, who are on a working visit to Ganja, met with foreign students of higher educational institutions operating in the city and held extensive discussions on issues of concern to them.

Opening the event organized by the Ganja Regional Migration Department and Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU), Chairman of the Public Council under the State Migration Service Azer Allahveranov informed of the activities carried out by the Council with regard to foreign students studying in the country. It was noted that the existing rules regarding foreign students are determined by the legal framework resulting from the legal status of persons from this category. Referring to the importance of discussions with target groups, Allahveranov spoke about the benefits of effective use of electronic resources in the provision of migration services, demonstrated how to use the MigAz mobile application and other electronic services.

Kushvar Mammadova, the head of the department at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, Ruslan Mammadov, the head of the department at Ganja State University, and Ilaha Gurbanova, the employee of the Ganja Technology University, informed about the organized work with foreign students in their educational institutions and emphasized that issues related to the legal status of students are solved flexibly with the support of the employees of the Ganja Regional Migration Office. Along with this, the participants of the event expressed their opinion on the need for regular meetings with the relevant government agencies to eliminate the difficulties faced by foreign students, and made suggestions to this end.

The deputy head of the Main Department of Migration Policy and Legal Support of the State Migration Service Kayan Hajiyev, the head of the Ganja Regional Migration Department Orhan Khidirov and other employees of the structural unit answered their questions about the registration of foreign students at the place of residence, temporary residence and work permits, the rights and freedoms of migrants, as well as other questions of interest to them in detail.
