The Ambassadors Fund for Summer Work Travel (SWT) Scholarship

The Ambassadors Fund for Summer Work Travel (SWT) Scholarship is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, with the goal of enhancing mutual understanding and supporting public diplomacy efforts between the United States and young people from other countries. The scholarship offers a unique opportunity for university leaders from Azerbaijan and other select countries who demonstrate a willingness and interest in developing skills related to community building, media literacy, storytelling, and intercultural competencies.

Selected grantees will gain professional experience in the United States, improve their English language skills, and share their own culture with Americans. Moreover, they will attend a 3-day arrival seminar in New York City with scholarship recipients from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Georgia.

The scholarship covers many costs associated with the SWT experience including airfare, program fees, and costs (meals and accommodation) associated with the initial seminar in New York City. The program does not cover housing and food while working for the host employer, spending money, or travel and sightseeing costs while on the SWT.

Recipients will meet, work, live with and learn from both people of the United States and other international students while sharing daily experiences.
